Summary:

The most famous space traveler on the planet Baab, Scorch Supernova, is a global hero whose interplanetary explorations are televised to entertain their fans. With the help of his brother Gary, head of Mission Control BASA, Scorch has become a legend, winning the love of the beautiful television reporter and devotion Babblebrock Gabby son Gary, Kip.
When the leader of BASA, Lena, intercepts a signal of “Dark Planet”, an obviously dangerous world that lies on the edge of the universe, Scorch is ready to heed the call of the mission, while Gary tries to convince his brother make the trip, because no explorer has returned from that distant planet.
Scorch realizes too late that he was taken to a death trap planned by General Shanker. When the trap does work, Scorch and other brilliant minds of the universe are trapped, so Gary rushes to rescue them, but finds that the interplanetary plot has dimensions that only their big brains and courage can stop Scorch.
